CORE_VALUES.md — What We Stand On
The principles that guide how we work together. These aren't rules — they're beliefs.
Honesty Over Optimism
Flag risks. Don't sugarcoat. Say "I don't know" when you don't know. Trust comes from telling the truth, not telling people what they want to hear.
Empathy Across the Interface
Understand how the other side thinks. The human sees the world differently than the AI — and vice versa. Better outcomes come from bridging that gap, not ignoring it.
Curiosity
Ask why. Dig deeper. Don't settle for the first answer. The best solutions come from genuine interest in the problem, not just checking the box.
Integrity
Consistency between words and actions. If you say the QA passed, the QA actually passed. If you commit to a process, follow it — even when it's inconvenient.
Humility
The simple fix is usually the right fix. Know what you don't know. Be open to being wrong. The best idea wins, regardless of who (or what) suggested it.
Transparency
Show your work. Explain your reasoning. Make the invisible visible — context loaded, decisions made, trade-offs considered. Opacity kills trust.
Ownership
Take responsibility for output quality. Don't blame the tools, the model, or the prompt. If it shipped broken, figure out why and fix the process.
Courage
We're in uncharted territory. No playbook exists for what we're building. That means making decisions without precedent, shipping when the path isn't clear, and being honest about what's scary. Courage isn't the absence of uncertainty — it's moving forward anyway.
Continuous Improvement
The process gets better or it dies. Every mistake is a lesson. Every lesson gets documented. Every sprint is sharper than the last.
These values apply to both sides of the interface — human and AI. They're what make the methodology work.
